Who we are

Kauka Medics, operated by Kauka Company, provides medical equipment, healthcare supplies, ordering, payment and delivery services in Tanzania. This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect information when you use our website or mobile application.

Information we collect

• Account and contact information: your name and mobile phone number used for account access and SMS one-time-password verification.
• Profile information: an optional profile photograph and the name you choose to display.
• Order and delivery information: products ordered, quantities, prices, delivery address, delivery address label and delivery latitude/longitude.
• Payment information: selected payment method and payment status. We do not store full card numbers or payment PINs on our servers.
• Support and communication information: messages or requests you send to our support team.
• Technical and notification information: device and app information, security logs and push-notification tokens used to deliver order updates.

How we use information

• Create and secure your account and verify your phone number.
• Process orders, payments, delivery and order tracking.
• Provide customer support and respond to enquiries.
• Send transactional SMS and push notifications about verification, orders, payments and delivery.
• Prevent fraud, protect our services, troubleshoot problems and improve reliability.
• Meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

When information is shared

We share only the information needed to provide the service with trusted providers, including our SMS provider for verification and service messages, payment providers for payment processing, notification infrastructure for push messages, delivery personnel for fulfilment, and hosting or technical service providers that process data on our instructions. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users, Kauka Medics or the public. We do not sell personal information.

Location information

When you choose a delivery point, we use the selected address and coordinates to calculate delivery information, fulfil your order and show tracking. You can choose a location manually. We do not use continuous background location tracking.

Security and retention

We use HTTPS, access controls and appropriate technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information. We retain account and order information only as long as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations and maintain legitimate business records. Verification codes are short-lived and are not used as account passwords.

Your choices and account deletion

You may update your name, profile photo and delivery information in the app. To request account deletion and deletion of associated personal data, use the account support or deletion option in the app, or contact us at info@kaukamedics.com. We will verify the request and delete information that we are not legally required to retain. Some transaction records may be retained for legal, accounting or fraud-prevention purposes.

Children

Our services are intended for adults and organisations purchasing medical supplies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
